Project Manager/GIS Specialist

Matt Prasek has three years experience with project management, economic analysis, legal research, and implementation of GIS technologies. His experience includes project management for mine permitting efforts, and working with a variety of issues such as market analysis, community relations, transportation, and demographics. Mr. Prasek is currently managing a number of high level mining development permitting efforts. These assignments include management of a team of technical specialists to address a variety of required reclamation planning issues. Mr. Prasek’s background in economics and cartographics also allow him to produce reports and maps accurately depicting economic markets. Mr. Prasek also has extensive research and database development experience.

Examples of his experience include:
  • Preparation of vested rights research materials including legal documents obtained from various agencies as well as maps detailing past activity and land use.
  • Completion of California statewide royalty rate survey for construction aggregates
  • Conducting quarterly aggregate commodity pricing updates.
  • Development of a drainage easement database for the San Diego County Flood Control District as well as an in-house construction aggregate database.
  • Preparation and presentation of community relations slideshow for construction aggregate producers.
  • Development of maps for analysis of mineral resource availability, land use constraints, historic land uses, and economic markets.
  • Analysis of aerial photographs, parcel data, and zoning information to locate property that allows industrial uses as well as specifically to locate a rail siding.
  • Coordination with agencies, stakeholders, and sub-contractors for project management and collection and identification of economic and physical site area data that affect land use and development.
Mr. Prasek is skilled with the use of ArcView 8.3 software including Spatial Analyst and 3-D Analyst extensions, as well as Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project and Adobe PageMaker. His experience also includes the use of Trimble GPS with ArcPad software.
